Saints Look to Keep Rolling vs. Rider

Siena in Search of Sixth Straight Win

ALBANY, NY – Siena Basketball looks to make it six in a row when the Saints host Rider Sunday afternoon at 2 p.m. at MVP Arena.

Tickets to today's game start at just $10 (service fees apply if purchasing through Ticketmaster) and can be purchased by clicking the corresponding link, in-person at the MVP Arena Box Office, or by contacting Ticketmaster by phone at (800) 745-3000. The Siena Fan Relations Management Center is on-hand to handle all ticket-related inquiries, and can be reached by phone at (518) 487-2202 or by e-mail at sienatickets2@siena.edu.

Today's game marks the Saints' Fourth Annual Sensory Friendly and Autism Awareness Game. In an effort to create a more sensory-friendly atmosphere for fans with autism and other special needs, the game will feature artificial noise reduction, the elimination of in-game flashing videos on the scoreboard, ribbon boards, and media tables, the dimming of arena lighting, and a Sensory Safe Room. Special group rates for seating in sensory-safe Section 102 are available for spectrum guests and others with special needs and their families. Tickets can be purchased in advance by clicking the corresponding link and by entering the passcode SENSORY. Seats in sensory-safe Section 102 can also be secured on gameday by visiting the MVP Arena Box Office and mentioning the code word SENSORY.

Siena (10-5, 4-0) looks to wrap up its first homestand of 2023 on a high note. Winners of five straight – matching their longest winning streak since a program-record 16-game win streak bridging 2021-22 – the Saints are one of only two remaining undefeated teams in MAAC action along with Iona. Two-time defending MAAC Rookie of the Week Michael Eley has been a bright spot – averaging 13.8 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 1.4 steals off the bench during the win streak – while Jackson Stormo enters playing averaging a team-high 16.1 points over the past seven games.

Rider (6-8, 3-2) has dropped three of four, and is looking to bounce back from a 72-63 defeat at home vs. Quinnipiac Friday night. Like Siena, who was without their starting point guard and MAAC Player of the Year contender Javian McCollum for the second half of Friday night's game, the Broncs too were without the services of their fellow star guard Dwight Murray, Jr. for the duration of their setback against the Bobcats. Each of Rider's past six games have been decided by single digits, including three by two points or less.

Siena has nearly doubled up Rider in the all-time series to the tune of a 37-19 advantage. The Saints have won 10 of the past 14 meetings, although the Broncs snapped a six-game losing streak in Albany last season with their first win since Dec. 7, 2012.

Robert Lee and Kelly O'Donnell have the call of the game on ESPN+ - which can be viewed by clicking the corresponding link – and which will be simulcast locally in the Capital Region on My4 Albany. Each of Siena's remaining home games will be televised on My4 Albany, which is available locally over the air on Channel 51, and is also available to Spectrum subscribers in the Capital Region on Channel 4. "The Voice of the Saints" Emmanuel Berbari and former Saint Conner Fenlon '12 will have the radio call of the action locally in the Capital Region on ALT 104.9 FM and online at alt1049albany.com.
