Giovanni Emejuru scored 13 points on 6-10 shooting for shorthanded Siena (1-1), who was without reigning MAAC Rookie of the Year and Preseason Second Team All-MAAC selection Michael Eley (ankle). Killian Gribben chipped in 10 points for the Saints who committed 22 turnovers. Richmond swiped 14 steals, leading to a 31-4 advantage in points off turnovers.

The Spiders led throughout and jumped out to a quick double-digit advantage at 18-8 just over eight minutes in. Siena closed the gap to 22-17, but Richmond responded with 12 unanswered points and never looked back. The Spiders led 43-22 at the break, and by no fewer than 18 points in the second half.

Albany native Jordan King, who began his collegiate career with the Saints (2019-21) where he was a part of back-to-back MAAC Regular Season Championships and was a 2020-21 Third Team All-MAAC selection, contributed 10 points, four assists, and four steals for Richmond.

Siena wraps up its long weekend in the region when they travel to American for a Monday night matchup at 7 p.m. in Washington, DC.
