LOUDONVILLE, NY – Siena Swimming & Diving began a stretch of two weekend meets in as many days by traveling west to Stokes Natatorium to face off with perennial foe St. Francis (PA) in Loretto, Pennsylvania on Saturday morning. The Saints dropped a 176-86 decision to the Red Flash in their third road event of the season thus far.
Facing off for the 16
th straight season, the home team took wins in 13 events on the day, including the first nine.
Senior
Audrey Shultz claimed victory in the 200 breast (2:27.18) while junior
Kylie Carter (2:31.49) took second in the event.
Several Saints turned in season best times in nearly every event, including Carter (25.39), freshman
Hope Ivanovich (25.48), and freshman
Camryn Raines (25.52) in the 50 free, sophomore
Mya Reed (58.36) and sophomore
Brooke Pociask (58.72) in the 100 free, graduate student
Rory Kalac (1:59.95) in the 200 free, and freshman
Natalie Blume (11:08.68) in the 1000 free.
Freshman
Mary Ellen Stratman recorded season bests in both the 100 (1:01.98) and 200 back (2:13.61), while Carter went for a third in the 200 breast (2:31.49). Freshman
Carsyn Ide did so in the 100 fly (1:00.05), while senior
Demi Bobarakis went for a season best in the 200 fly (2:17.31). Shultz (2:17.59) joined freshman
Alice Scalmani (2:16.34) in recording season bests in the 200 IM.
Siena will have a quick turnaround when it returns home on Sunday, November 5 at 1 PM to host New Hampshire at the Siena Swim Center.
