Under his guidance, four players earned Academic All-American status and seven have joined him in the Siena Hall of Fame.
His time at Siena was part of a coaching career that included coaching the Watervliet High School Boys' Varsity Basketball Team from 1969-76, where he guided many players to successful high school basketball careers. Hogan served as a social studies teacher at Watervliet HS until his retirement in 1991.
Hogan earned a master's degree from Siena in 1967, and was also inducted into the Upstate New York Basketball Hall of Fame in 2014, was a member of the Watervliet High School Basketball Hall of Fame, and was inducted into the St. Edward's University Golden Guard in 2010.
