Siena has renewed its annual partnership with the United States Marine Corps Reserve to host a toy drive benefiting Capital Region Toys For Tots at Wednesday's game. All fans who bring a new, unwrapped toy to the game will receive a voucher to buy one ticket, get one free (of equal or lesser value) to a future home game this season. Moreover, the first 50 fans to donate at the game will also receive a $5 Dunkin' card.
Siena (2-6, 1-1) returns to non-conference action looking to bounce back from an 80-48 setback to conclude the MAAC opening weekend Sunday in Maryland. The Saints will close out the month – and the non-conference portion of their schedule – with five more games before returning to league action for good to open the New Year on Jan. 5.
Picked to finish third according to the America East Preseason Coaches' Poll following a 17-win season a year ago, Bryant (5-4) enters play winners of four of their last five with their lone defeat coming at Big East foe Xavier. The Bulldogs' streak recent run began with the program's first-ever victory against a nationally ranked opponent, when they upset then 10
th ranked and 2023 Final Four participant Florida Atlantic 61-52 on Nov. 18 in Boca Raton.
Guard Sherif Gross-Bullock and Earl Timberlake were both named Preseason All-Conference selections for Bryant, which ranks seventh nationally in blocks (6.4), 22
nd in threes (9.9), and 24
th in field goal percentage defense (.382). Gross-Bullock ranks 15th nationally in threes per game (3.33), while Timberlake ranks 10
th in double-doubles (four) and 32
nd in rebounding (9.6).
Siena and Bryant meet for just the third time – all within the past eight seasons – and first time ever in Albany. The Saints captured both previous meetings by identical 19-point margins in Rhode Island as part of tournaments in 2016 and 2017.
