Siena (16-10, 10-4) bounced back from a mini two-game skid to begin February with their first sweep of the season with a 72-65 triumph at Mount St. Mary's Friday night. The Saints were buoyed by the returns of the dynamic duo of Michael Eley and Javian McCollum, who combined for 45 points. A four-time MAAC Rookie of the Week, Eley returned from a two-game absence due to illness to pour in a career-high 23 points off the bench, while two-time MAAC Player of the Week and leading scorer McCollum, who missed three of the previous four games (back) added 22 points and six assists.

The victory helped Siena keep pace with current MAAC frontrunner Rider as well as second place Iona, who also both won Friday night. The Saints enter play just one game back of the idle Broncs, and only a half game behind the Gaels.

Marist (8-15, 4-10) has lost six of seven with their lone win coming at home over last place Canisius last Sunday. The Red Foxes are led by transfer Patrick Gardner, who ranks second in the MAAC in scoring, eighth in blocks, and ninth in both rebounding and field goal percentage.

Siena has dominated the all-time series against their I-87 rivals, holding a commanding 62-29 advantage over Marist entering the 92nd meeting. The Saints' 62 wins over the Red Foxes are their most vs. any one opponent. Siena captured the first meeting 70-55 two Sundays ago in Poughkeepsie behind a career-high 24 points from Jared Billups.
