Siena Makes Trip to New MAAC Member Mount St. Mary’s Friday Night

Saints Look to Bounce Back

EMMITSBURG, MD – Siena Basketball makes its first trip to Knott Arena in 12 years when the Saints look to complete the regular season series sweep of new MAAC member Mount St. Mary's Friday night at 7 p.m.

Siena (15-9, 9-4) is looking to bounce back following consecutive losses to open February. The Saints have gone just 3-4 over their last seven games following a 6-0 MAAC start to fall out of first place for the first time this season. Rider enters the weekend alone in first place, a half game clear of second place Iona, and one full game ahead of Siena.

Mount St. Mary's (8-16, 4-9) has dropped seven of nine, but snapped a three-game losing streak with a 79-75 win at Quinnipiac Sunday. The Mount shot 73% in the second half on their way to their highest scoring output of the season.

Siena has won all five previous meetings with Mount St. Mary's, including a 72-57 triumph in the first MAAC matchup between the programs on Jan. 20 in Albany. Freshman reserve Michael Eley led the way with a career-high 20 points for the Saints who ended the game on a 20-4 run over the final 9:48.

Adam Pohl has the call of the game on ESPN3, which can be watched by clicking the corresponding link. The "Voice of the Saints" Emmanuel Berbari and Andy Grazulis '92 have the radio call of the action courtside from Knott Arena, locally in the Capital Region on ALT 104.9 FM and online at alt1049albany.com, with pregame coverage beginning at 6:30 p.m.
