SAN DIEGO, CA – Siena Water Polo concluded the Aztec Invitational in San Diego, California by battling two more ranked foes on Saturday. The Saints (4-11) dropped a 16-3 decision to #15 UC San Diego before taking a 21-13 loss to #13 Princeton.

The Saints were kept off the board completely by the Tritons, who recorded the first nine goals of the game. Neither team scored in the fourth quarter, with senior Grace Boeve finishing with a pair of goals and freshman Parker Thomas adding the other.

Siena's offense came back to battle the nationally-ranked Tigers for the second time this season in the nightcap, with Siena embarking on runs in the second and fourth quarters. After Princeton netted the first eight goals of the game, Siena netted five of the next seven, and trailed, 13-5, at the half.
The Saints matched the Tigers with eight second-half goals, but the damage had already been done. Thomas went for five goals, while freshman Stella Chopskie recorded a hat trick and Boeve joined freshman Bianca Kennerley in scoring multiple goals.
With non-conference play now in the rear view mirror, Siena will enter MAAC play on Sunday, March 19 when it faces Marist and Iona in Poughkeepsie, New York.
