Siena Baseball blasted a pair of home runs and matched its season-high in scoring, but Fordham erupted for a seven-run fifth to prevail 15-6 in a midweek slugfest in the Bronx.
Vincenzo Castronovo and
Vincent DiNicola each hit a pair of two-run homers apiece for Siena (2-17), the latter of which rallied the Saints within 7-6 in the third inning.
Kobe Stenson accounted for the other two runs on a two-run bloop double in the second.
But Fordham (7-14) had too much firepower to overcome. After scoring seven times over the first two innings, the Rams put the game away with their seven-run fifth. Fordham sent 13 batters to the plate in the frame, with four of the seven runs being unearned.
Zach Selinger set the tone with a first inning grand slam and drove in six runs in total for the Rams which pounded out 14 hits.
Siena returns to action Wednesday with another midweek Empire State tilt at Army West Point at 3 p.m.
