Saints Competing with Five Teams for Final Three Postseason Spots

Siena Men's Tennis bounced back in a big way by gutting out a 4-3 road victory at Rider on Friday in Lawrenceville, NJ to put themselves in better position to qualify for the MAAC Postseason Tournament next weekend.

The Saints (10-10 overall, 3-2 MAAC) took all three doubles matches to earn the opening point of the day.

Dante Russo and Edward Vo partnered to defeat Nathan Slattery and Dhruv Tangri 6-4 at the #1 spot.

Agustin Suarez and Matt Nardone also won 6-4 versus the Broncs duo of Roger Martinez and Stavro Hadjivarnava at #2.

Lastly, Jose Pablo Davila and Tomas del Olmo briskly beat Jake Grimes and Dylan Lachmanen 6-2 at the third flight.

Russo picked up his 22nd singles victory of the season with a 6-3, 6-3 triumph over Slattery at the singles #1 position.

Suarez needed three sets to top Martinez after losing the opening set.

Davila went into the third set against Hadjivarnava before having to retire from the match.

Vo closed it out with a 2-6, 6-2, 6-0 victory against Pablo Salar Carrera.

Vo, a freshman, improved to 20-4 in singles play on the season.

The Broncs dropped to 8-13 overall and 3-2 in the MAAC.
