LOUDONVILLE, NY – The Siena Men's Basketball program has completed its staff for the upcoming 2023-24 season. Nick Pederson, who spent the past two seasons as a graduate assistant at the University of Minnesota, has been named the Special Assistant to Head Coach Carmen Maciariello.  
 
"Nick is a worker who is well-versed with both film and technology, and is excited to tackle any task to help our program," said Maciariello. "He has a great pedigree coming from the Big Ten as well as some grassroots basketball experience. We are happy to have him here with us."
 
Pederson joins the Saints after spending the past two seasons (2021-23) on head coach Ben Johnson's support staff, where he assisted in the day-to-day operations for the Golden Gophers, including working with the coaching staff on scouting breakdowns, film, and personnel reports. Pederson, who was a student manager throughout his time as an undergraduate at Minnesota (2018-21), also helped oversee the team's managers and assisted with the student athletes' day-to-day schedules as part of his most recent role.
 
"I'm very excited to join the Siena Men's Basketball Family and have the opportunity to work for Coach Carm," said Pederson. "I'm extremely grateful for this opportunity to continue to grow my knowledge, experience, and career in basketball under Coach Carm. I can't wait to get to work with this great group of players and coaches, and am honored to join such a storied program."
 
Pederson also brings AAU experience with him to Loudonville, having spent this past year as an assistant coach on the 3SSB Adidas League circuit with D1 Minnesota. Additionally, he has worked as a trainer for Catalyst Basketball, assisting NBA Skills Trainer Reid Ouse in private workouts for players ranging from the youth level to high-major Division I to the pros.
 
A native of Verona, Wisconsin, Pederson played collegiately his freshman year at Division III Aurora University before transferring to Minnesota. A 2021 graduate of Minnesota with his B.S. in Sport Management, he recently earned his Masters of Education in Sports Management from Minnesota in May.
