LOUDONVILLE, NY – For one Siena Golf program, the road to repeat begins this weekend. For another, a new era begins. Both Siena Men's Golf and Siena Women's Golf will be in action for the first time in their Fall 2023 seasons this weekend, with the men heading to New Jersey for the Cornell Invitational September 10-11, and the women staying home to face UAlbany in the Crosstown Challenge on September 10.
Siena Men's Golf will begin its defense of the 2023 MAAC Championship at Watchung Valley Country Club in Watching, New Jersey at the Cornell Invitational, with 18 holes of action set for each day. Women's Golf will head just down Route 9 to Wolferts Roost Golf Club in Albany for the annual Crosstown Challenge with MAAC rival UAlbany in the form of one 18-hole round on Sunday, September 10 at 1 PM. Men's Golf will take part in the first of six scheduled fall events with four of its championship-winning five-man squad in-tact from last season. This includes junior
Dan Brooks and fifth year
Nolan Crowley, who each took home All-MAAC finishes at the 2023 MAAC Men's Golf Championship. Led by reigning MAAC Coach of the Year
Steven Jensen, Siena dominated the 2023 championship by 12 strokes for the event's most dominant win since 2012. Other notable returners include fifth year
Matthew Ferrari and sophomore
Austin Giroux, who both were a part of the team's five-man squad for its conference title and NCAA Regional appearance.
Led by first year head coach
Evan Drew for the first time, Women's Golf will aim for its first head-to-head victory over the Great Danes since 2011 in the annual meeting of the two Capital Region schools. UAlbany took a 288-323 victory last season, and went on to finish as the MAAC Runner-Up for the 2022-23 season. The Saints return four letterwinners from last season, including one-time MAAC Player of the Week

Men's Golf's next action will come September 16-17 at thee Ryan T. Lee Memorial Collegiate, while the women will head to the Buffalo Area for the Purple Eagle Invitational September 30 – October 1.
