Siena Wraps Up January, Weekend Homestand Sunday Against Saint Peter’s

Saints Look to Head Into February on High Note

ALBANY, NY – Siena Basketball wraps up the month of January and a weekend homestand when the Saints host Saint Peter's Sunday at 2 p.m. at MVP Arena.

Sunday marks the Saints annual Coaches vs. Cancer Suits and Sneakers Game. The Siena coaching staff will show their support for the cause, in part, by wearing sneakers and lapel pins while also collecting donations for the American Cancer Society. Representatives from the American Cancer Society will have a table set up on the concourse outside of Section 105 where fans can make a donation and also secure "Today, I Honor" signs that they can fill out and display at the game in memory of a loved one touched by cancer.
 
Sunday also features the Saints annual Dance Clinic and additionally serves as Family Sunday. More than 150 children have registered to learn a routine from the Siena Dance Team pregame, and will perform together at halftime. Immediately following the conclusion of the game, all children in attendance are invited down to the court for a postgame shootaround opportunity to cap Family Sunday. Basketballs will be provided.
 
Siena (3-16, 2-6) continues a stretch where they play five out of seven at MVP Arena against an upstart Saint Peter's (10-7, 6-2) squad which entered the weekend tied for second place in the MAAC Standings after being projected to finish 10th according to the preseason poll. The home team has prevailed in 19 of the past 22 meetings between the longtime MAAC rivals who are set to meet for the 101st time.
 
Robert Lee and Kelly O'Donnell have the call of the game locally in the Capital Region on My4 Albany as well as on ESPN+, which can be viewed by clicking the corresponding link. The final nine Siena Basketball home games will be simulcast locally on Capital Region television on My4 Albany. "The Voice of the Saints" Emmanuel Berbari and former Saint Andy Grazulis '92 will have the radio call of the game locally in the Capital Region on JAMZ 96.3 FM, with pregame coverage beginning at 1:30 p.m.
