BRONX, NY - Behind nearly 50 percent shooting from the field, the Fordham Rams topped Siena Women's Basketball 90-51 from Rose Hill Gym on Saturday evening.
Teresa Seppala led Siena (0-4) with 15 points in her season debut. The junior added five rebounds, three assists and two steals to her line as well.
Ahniysha Jackson 13 points to go with two rebounds and assists, as well as one block and one steal.
Aniya Hooker's nine points served as a career high through her first four collegiate outings, while
Zyriah Price's seven rebounds were her single-game most in her early career. The mark also tied a team single-game high this year.
Siena's 61 field goal attempts, 22 three-point attempts, 17 made free throws, and 22 free throw attempts were all single game highs for the team through its first four outings.
Fordham (3-3) controlled the paint, out-scoring the Saints 58-20 in that department. All-Atlantic 10 honoree Taylor Donaldson paced the Rams with a game best 19 points on 8-16 shooting from the floor.
Following a tightly contested first quarter that ended in favor of Fordham, 23-15, the Saints were out-scored 28-5 in the second to trail 51-20 at the break.
Siena came out of halftime firing, out-scoring the Rams 23-16. The team went 4-9 from three-point over the 10 minute quarter, while Jackson poured in eight points, Hooker six, and Seppala five, before Fordham denied the team a comeback in the fourth.
The Saints travel to New Britain, CT on Tuesday to take on Central Connecticut for the final game of the team's season-long four-game roadstand. Tip-off from Detrick Gymnasium is set for 4 p.m.
