LOUDONVILLE, NY – The Siena Swimming and Diving Teams fell to MAAC foes, Sacred Heart 158-138 and Rider 171-125, in its home-opener at the Siena Swim Center on Saturday.

Sophomore
GayLynn Kirn shined in the home-opener as she took first place in the 200 free with a time of 1:54.61 earning her a spot on the Top-10 performer list and just missing the Swim Center record by .77 seconds and the school record by 1.83 seconds. She also finished second in the 500 free with a time of 5:14.27.Â

Shaylea Triller (1:57.79),
Natalie Blume (1:58.76), and
Mea Amedio (1:59.17) took second through fourth in the 200 free.Â

Mya Reed took first in the 50 free, just missing a spot on the Top-10 performer list by .40 seconds where she finished with a time of 24.90 while her classmate
Kaci Owens (25.24) finished second and senior
Kylie Carter (25.30) finished 4th.Â

Earning a first and second place finish in the 100 free was Triller (1st, 53.38) just missing a Top-10 spot by .25 seconds, and Amedio (2nd, 54.10).Â

Dame and Ide finished third and fourth in the 100 fly with times of 59.30, .04 from a Top-10 finish and 1:00.03.Â

Siena's other top-five finishers included
Maddie Buck (4th, 11:27.71 in the 1,000 free; Rentosa (3rd, 1:00.00 in the 100 back), Dame (3rd, 1:08.60 in the 100 breast), Ide (4th, 2:14.04) in the 200 fly; Carter (2nd, 2:28.74 in the 200 breast) missing a first place finish by three one hundredths of a second.
Natalie Blume (4th, 5:23.02 in the 500 free),
Alice Scalmani (4th, 4:47:52 in the 400 I.M.).Â

Siena shined in the 200 Medley Relay finishing third, fourth and sixth. Finishing third was the team of
Gabrielle Rentosa,
Leslie Dame,
Camryn Raines, and Triller with a time of 1:49.80. Finishing fourth was the team of Kirn,
Olivia Martin,
Carsyn Ide, and Carter with a time of 1:51.53 and finishing sixth was the team of
Mary Ellen Stratman,
Emme Starzman, Scalmani, and
Kaci Owens with a time of 1:54:05.Â

The Saints' relay teams also clinched top spots in the 200 free with teams including Rentosa, Raines, Carter, Triller (1st, 1:38.43); Blume, Owens, Kirn, and Amedio (2nd, 1:38.71).Â

Siena returns to action on Saturday, Nov. 16 when the team hosts Stony Brook at the Siena Swim Center at noon.
