ALBANY, NY – Tre Dinkins scored 22 points to lead Canisius past Siena Basketball 73-64 at MVP Arena.

Frank Mitchell tallied 12 points on 6-8 shooting for Canisius (10-15, 5-10) which shot 51% from the field to snap a 10-game road losing streak. Cam Palesse added 10 points for the Golden Griffins who led by as many as 18 late in the second half.

Giovanni Emejuru poured in a career-high 23 points on 8-12 shooting and added 14 rebounds for his third double-double of the season for Siena (4-22, 3-12). But the rest of the Saints, who were without leading scorer and rebounder
Sean Durugordon (upper body injury), combined to shoot just 33% (13-39) from the floor.

Siena opened a six-point lead midway through the first half, but Canisius responded with 13 unanswered to take a lead they would not relinquish. The Golden Griffins led 36-28 at the half.

The Saints rallied to within five at 49-44 at the 11:23 mark, but could get no closer. Canisius, which shot 56% in the second half including 5-7 from three, answered with a 14-4 run to pull away and win for just the 10
th time in their past 50 trips to the Capital Region.

Mason Courtney and
Michael Ojo added double-digit performances with 12 points apiece for Siena.

The Saints have the league bye Friday before returning to action next Sunday at Fairfield at 2 p.m.
