MADEIRA BEACH, FL – Siena Softball ended a busy weekend on a high note to wrap seven games of action at The Spring Games in Madeira Beach, Florida on Sunday. The Saints (7-5) carved out a 1-0 win over Middle Tennessee State to improve to 5-2 on the weekend and record their third shutout win of the season.

With graduate student arm Nicole Patille in the circle the Green and Gold endured an early-inning pitcher's duel, with the game scoreless after four innings. In their first meeting with the Blue Raiders since 2019, Siena finally struck in the top of the fifth, with senior Isabella Pardo allowing freshman Chloe Cummings to score on an RBI single.

Siena then defensively retired the side in order in the fifth, stranded two runners defensively in the sixth, and left the potential game-tying run in the seventh to ensure the win. The team held a 5-4 hits advantage, while Patille (2-0) earned a complete-game shutout victory in the circle with five strikeouts.

Middle Tennessee's Claire Woods (0-1) also struck out five, but walked two in the complete game loss.

Siena will return to Madeira Beach for another weekend at The Spring Games March 8-10, with contests against regional foes Stonehill, Sacred Heart, LIU, Bucknell, and Columbia on-tap.
