MADEIRA BEACH, FL – Siena Softball saved its best for last to end its second weekend of action at The Spring Games in Madeira Beach, Florida on Sunday. The Saints (11-6) cruised to a 10-1 victory over Columbia for its first run-rule decision of the year, ending the first meeting with the Lions since 2015 in five innings.

Emma Petersen then stepped up and rocked a ball to left center field for the team's second grand slam of the year, and followed it up with a two-run bomb to right in the next frame to cap a career-high six RBI day. The performance was the 26
th multi-home run game in program history and the first since April 2021.
Columbia got on the board in the home half of the third with an RBI triple to right field, but the Saints responded in the fifth with three more runs to bring the game into run-rule territory. Freshman

Avamarie Perry to come home on an error, while freshman
Mary Mikalsen and junior
Laila Aponte each plated runs on RBI ground outs.
Siena held a 10-4 hits advantage to improve to 2-1 against the Ivy League this season, with Pardo, Petersen, and Cummings each going 2-3. Redshirt-sophomore
Alissa Eimont struck out three in two scoreless innings before
Nicole Patille pitched the next two to improve to a perfect 4-1 on the year. Cummings tossed a scoreless final frame, while Columbia's Raquel Reyes (2-4) took the loss with five earned runs allowed without an out produced.
Siena will begin play in the Northeast on Tuesday, March 19 with a doubleheader at Stonehill to continue non-league action, and will look to build on seven wins in its last nine games.
