Siena Wraps Up Regular Season Action at Archrival Iona

Saints Seek to Head Into MAAC Tournament on High Note

NEW ROCHELLE, NY – Siena Basketball wraps up its regular season slate when the Saints take on archrival Iona Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Hynes Athletics Center.
 
Siena (4-26, 3-16) heads into its regular season finale looking to build momentum heading into next week's MAAC Tournament in Atlantic City, New Jersey. The Saints would be the 10-seed and face either Iona or Mount St. Mary's in First Round action Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. with a win today coupled with a Manhattan loss vs. Canisius (4 p.m.). Otherwise, Siena will be seeded 11th and take on either Marist or Niagara in the 9:45 p.m. game Tuesday night.
 
Like the Saints, defending MAAC Champion Iona (14-16, 9-10) will also open postseason play on Tuesday night. Losers of five of their last six, the Gaels will be either the No. 7 or No. 8 seed in the MAAC Tournament.
 
Siena has played Iona more times than any other opponent in a series which the Gaels leads 69-55 through the first 124 all-time meetings. The rivals have split their past 12 matchups.

"The Voice of the Saints" Emmanuel Berbari and former Saint Conner Fenlon '12 will have the radio call of the game courtside from the Hynes Athletics Center on JAMZ 96.3 FM, with pregame coverage beginning at 12:30 p.m.
