LOUDONVILLE, NY – Siena Men's Tennis earned five All-MAAC selections including one major award as voted on by the league coaches in a release by the conference office on Friday.   
 
Oscar Martinez became the third Siena Saint to be named the Men's Tennis Rookie of the Year after a season in which the La Guaira, Venezuela native went 18-7 overall in singles including 5-1 in the MAAC. 

The only other two men's tennis MAAC Rookies of the Year from Siena were Mike Amico (Co-Rookie for the 2009-2010 season) and Edward Vo (2022-2023 season). 
 
This also marks the second consecutive season in which the Siena Men's Tennis team earned at least five All-MAAC selections. 

The Saints were awarded eight last season. 
 
Martinez also earned All-MAAC Second Team honors as a #1 singles player behind only the unanimous choice for MAAC Player of the Year Daniel Velek from Quinnipiac. 
 
Martinez, a freshman, was a three-time MAAC Player of the Week. 
 
At the No. 2 doubles position, Martinez and fellow freshman Dylan Breen of Ireland, were named to the All-MAAC Second Team after they combined to go 9-2 overall and were 3-0 in MAAC play. 
 
At the singles #4 position, junior Maxwell Acri was named All-MAAC Second Team.  The Fort Myers, Fla. native earned his first All-MAAC selection after a 14-12 singles record with a 4-2 mark inside conference play. 
 
Acri and graduate student Andrea Moro were also named to the All-MAAC Second Team at the doubles #3 position. 

Moro, a native of Sassari, Italy, went 4-0 in MAAC play with Acri. It's Moro's first time being chosen to the All-MAAC team. 
 
Additionally, the MAAC announced a total of 39 student-athletes to the 2024 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Men's Tennis All-Academic Team.
 
To be eligible for the MAAC All-Academic Team, a student-athlete must complete two semesters at their institution and hold a cumulative grade point average of 3.20 on a 4.0 scale.

Maxwell Acri and  Andrea Moro were named to the team from the Saints.
