LOUDONVILLE, NY – Siena Softball got back in the win column in a big way to continue an eight-game home stand in just its second mid-week non-conference home doubleheader of the 2024 season. The Saints (24-19) took home a pair of wins over newly-minted Division I opponent Le Moyne (14-31) to the tune of 6-1 and 11-0 victories on Thursday at Siena Softball Field.

With the Saints facing the Dolphins in doubleheader action for the second time this season and in Loudonville for the first time since 1986, the home team got on the board first with senior
Isabella Pardo coming home on a throwing error in the bottom of the first. Pardo and senior
Mikala Fletcher then helped string together a four-run inning for the Saints in the fourth by way of a pair of multi-RBI singles.
Le Moyne found the scoreboard via a Siena fielding error in the sixth, but the Saints had room for one more run in the form of Fletcher via an interference call in the home half of the inning. Siena held a 9-4 hits advantage, with Pardo going 3-4 with a pair of RBI's to lead the way offensively. Freshman pitcher
Hailey Francois (1-1) picked up her first collegiate victory in the circle with three strikeouts in a complete game effort.

Siena then moved quickly to begin the nightcap, with Pardo scoring as a result of a throwing error and freshman
Chloe Cummings coming on a sacrifice fly in the first inning. Four more runs scored in the second by way of an RBI double from senior
Jocelyn Ulrich, a throwing error to score Cummings, and an RBI single up the middle from Fletcher.

Kaycie Kennedy, the Green and Gold blew the game open with another five runs scoring in the third. After picking up her 21
st stolen base of the season to break her own program single-season record set last year, junior
McKenzie Swinson came home on an RBI ground out from Cummings, while Ulrich and Fletcher again sent in runs in RBI singles and freshman
Avamarie Perry plated the final three runs on an RBI double.
Siena recorded its fourth run-rule decision of the season by way of a 9-3 hits advantage, with Pardo, Ulrich, Fletcher, and Perry recording multi-hit outings and Fletcher and Perry each sending in three runs. Kennedy (1-0) picked up her first win in a Siena uniform with four strikeouts in shutout fashion.
The Saints will begin the final leg of their eight-game home stand by welcoming MAAC rival Saint Peter's to Loudonville on Saturday, April 27 for doubleheader action beginning at 2 PM.
