LOUDONVILLE, NY – Siena Softball entered its latest MAAC weekend series in desperate need of victories in order to improve its standing as the season comes to a close. The Saints (26-19, 9-10) with a pair of victories over Saint Peter's (15-31, 5-15) at Siena Softball Field on Saturday to the tune of 6-0 and 6-2 decisions.

The team's second straight and ninth total shutout victory began with three runs scoring in the first inning via a 2 RBI double to right center from sophomore
Emma Petersen to score fifth year
Jocelyn Ulrich and senior
Isabella Pardo, and a fielding error that allowed Petersen to score.
Working behind a solid complete game performance in the circle from redshirt-sophomore
Alissa Eimont, The home team tacked on another run via an Ulrich RBI single to center field in the second and ran the score to 5-0 via an RBI single from freshman
Avamarie Perry in the third. Siena stranded nine Saint Peter's runners defensively and further extended the score thanks to an RBI single from freshman
Chloe Cummings in the sixth.
The Saints held a 10-4 hits advantage, with Pardo going 3-4 from the plate to become only the third player in program history to eclipse the 200 career hit mark. Eimont (14-8) got back in the win column with six strikeouts in the circle.

Siena again struck early in the nightcap, with Cummings scoring on a fielding error and Ulrich coming in on an RBI ground out from senior
Mikala Fletcher. The teams remained steady until Siena extended the lead in the fourth via a sacrifice fly from redshirt-senior
Diana Parker to score Fletcher.
Saint Peter's bounced back with its first scoring play of the afternoon in the top of the sixth with a deep 2 RBI double to left center, but the Saints answered with an RBI single from Parker and a two-run home run from junior
McKenzie Swinson for her second big fly of the season.
The home team held on despite being out-hit, 5-4, and committing four errors, with Parker and Swinson each accounting for multiple runs batted in. Graduate student
Nicole Patille (8-4) held on for the win with three strikeouts in five and one-third innings, while Eimont re-appeared for the final one and two-third frames to collect her fourth save of the season and move into sole possession of second place in program history for saves.
Siena will look to move back to .500 in conference play when it celebrates Senior Day against the Peacocks on Sunday, April 28 at Noon in Loudonville.
