Three different scorers came through for the Lafayette College Leopards to defeat the visiting Siena Women's Soccer team 3-0 in the season-opener.
The Leopards held a 14-10 advantage on shots, including an 8-2 edge in the second half, while topping the Saints 9-6 overall on target. Nadia Zaffanella, Ani Khachadourian, and Katrina Santelli each scored to pace the Lafayette attack with Alexa Jindal and Gretchen Waechter providing assists on the Santelli and Zaffanella goals, respectively.
Lafayette scored on its first shot of the season in the 14th minute on an unassisted goal by Khachadourian. An early second half tally by Santelli in the 52nd minute provided some separation while Zaffanella's strike in the 83rd minute proved to put the match away.
