LOUDONVILLE, NY – Bailey Ayer recorded a hat trick and Kate Bossert added a pair of goals to power Vermont past Siena Women's Soccer 5-0 at Hickey Field.
 
Ayer set the tone early for Vermont (2-1-3), scoring just 61 seconds into the match. She added tallies in the 30^th and 60^th minutes, and assisted on the final score as part of a seven-point afternoon.
 
The Catamounts leading goal scorer last season with 10, Bossert registered her first two goals of 2024 in the 22^nd and 67^th minutes.
 
Despite the result, Siena (2-4) out-shot Vermont 18-15 and registered an 8-1 advantage in corners. The Saints set a season-high in shot attempts, with 11 different players making an attempt.
 
Sydney Slusser made six saves to post the clean sheet in her season debut for Vermont, while a pair of additional Siena attempts were cleared off the back line by defenders.
 
The Saints will look to quickly turn the page as they continue their season-long four-match homestand when they host Iona in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference opener Saturday at 1 p.m. on Hickey Field.
