LOUDONVILLE, NY - In its return to the Empire State, Siena Swim & Dive fell to visiting University of Vermont 187.5-104.5 from the Siena Swim Center on Saturday afternoon.
Sydney Murray took first place on the 1m board with a personal best score of 201.38. She also placed second on the 3m board scoring 203.18.
Shaylea Triller and
Natalie Blume were neck and neck in the 50 free, placing second and third a mere 0.01 second apart. Triller took second in 25.13, and Blume third in 25.14. Triller also placed second in the 100 free (54.03).
Gabrielle Rentosa claimed second in the 100 back, clocking in at 1:00.22, while
Hope Ivanovich took second in the 100 fly (1:00.11).
Kylie Carter had a second place showing in the 200 breast, touching the wall in 2:29.17. She also took third in the 200 free with a mark of 1:59.73.
Olivia Martin had a third place finish in the 100 breast with a mark of 1:10.61.
GayLynn Kirn notched a third place finish in the 200 back, finishing in 2:12.52, while later taking second in the 200 IM (2:13.07).
Siena took second and third in the 200 medley relay, with the team of Rentosa, Triller,
Leslie Dame, and
Carsyn Ide finishing runner-up in 1:50.94, and Martin, Carter,
Mea Amedio, and
Camryn Raines placing third in 1:52.05.
In the 200 free relay, the team of Triller, Raines, Amedio, and Carter placed second in 1:40.03, followed by the tandem of Rentosa, Blume,
Mya Reed, and
Kaci Owens in third in 1:40.37.
The Saints return to the pool at noon next Sat., Jan. 18, for their final home meet of the season against Stonehill. Prior to the meet, the team will honor graduating members
Maddie Buck,
Kylie Carter,
Olivia Martin,
Mya Reed, and
Shaylea Triller. The ceremony will begin 30 minutes prior to the start of the meet at 11:30 a.m.
