Siena Battles Archrival Iona Saturday in New Rochelle

Saints Seek to Salvage Series Split

NEW ROCHELLE, NY – Siena Basketball seeks to salvage an important regular season series split when the Saints battle archrival Iona Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Hynes Athletics Center.

David Resnick, Vin Parise, and Elizabeth Riccio have the call of the game on ESPN+, which can be viewed by clicking the corresponding link. The "Voice of the Saints" Emmanuel Berbari and former Saint Conner Fenlon '12 will have the radio call of the game locally in the Capital Region on JAMZ 96.3 FM, with pregame coverage beginning at 12:30 p.m.

The two most storied men's basketball programs in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference history enter the Saturday matinee in a four-way logjam for fourth place in the league standings. Siena (9-10, 4-4) took care of business to begin the long weekend with an 82-68 victory over Mount St. Mary's Thursday night, and are now in search of their first MAAC weekend sweep of the season. Meanwhile Iona (7-12, 4-4) is seeking its first three-game win streak of the season following back-to-back wins over Canisius and Rider.

The Gaels edged the Saints 74-73 in the first meeting between the teams just 20 days ago in Albany. Adam Njie was awarded the decisive free throw for Iona with just 2.7 seconds remaining in a sloppy, physical affair which featured 49 combined turnovers and 47 personal fouls.
