Competing against the likes of Power Conference opponents such as Marquette, Florida, Clemson, Texas A&M, Rutgers, Wisconsin, and Minnesota, Siena Men's Golf was up to the challenge in the first round of the 54-hole Marquette Intercollege from Erin Hills, WI. The Saints finished the day +43, 331 to enter Tuesday in 14th place.
Competing in his home state of Wisconsin, sophomore
KC Nickel ended the day 17th out of 90 competitors shooting +5, 77 - just four strokes off the individual lead. Nickel dominated par-4s during the day, tying for the fourth-lowest score on the afternoon (4.10). He also finished in a six-way tie for the most pars in the first round with 13.
Michael McConie (+11),
Colton Lusk (+13), and
Gavin Crowley (+14) finished team scoring for the round.
Austin Giroux also came in at 14-over for the Saints. Also playing a homecoming round was
Michael Broeker, who shot +8 while competing independently.
