Siena Women's Soccer played to a program-record fourth scoreless draw, tying Canisius 0-0 Wednesday afternoon in Buffalo.
Siena (5-4-6, 2-3-3) came out firing in the first half, attempting nine shots in the opening stanza.
Catherine Rogers single-handedly accounted for six of the attempts in the first 21 minutes alone, but a pair of shots off the woodwork and a sprawling stop by Chloe Tseros kept things scoreless. The Canisius (4-6-1, 4-2-1) keeper finished with six stops for the afternoon.
The Saints finished with a 12-8 advantage in shots while the teams attempted five corners apiece, as Siena was forced to settle for a program-record fourth scoreless draw, surpassing the previous mark of three in both 2014 and 2022. Moreover, the Saints sixth tie matches the 2014 squad for the most in program single-season history, with still four regular season matches remaining on the docket.
Rogers finished with seven shots – three of which were on target – while
Cate Burns made three saves for Siena to build upon the MAAC lead with her sixth shutout.
The Saints and Golden Griffins have now played to four straight ties – three of which have been scoreless draws – after having tied just once over the first 33 all-time matchups. Siena however ran its unbeaten streak to nine straight in the series (5-0-4).
The Saints have the league bye this weekend before returning to action when they host Saint Peter's next Wednesday at 3 p.m. on Hickey Field.
