Siena Swimming & Diving fell to Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference foes Rider and Sacred Heart (SHU) in tri-meet action Saturday in Lawrenceville, NY. The Saints posted scores of 194-103 against SHU and 220-76 against Rider.
Freshman
Clara Samko posted the team's highest finish of the day, taking second in the 100 fly in 59.59. She also finished third in the 100 free (53.41) and was part of the second-place 400 free relay team that also featured
GayLynn Kirn,
Camryn Raines, and
Julia Filiault and finished in 3:40.03.
Siena posted various third-place finishes throughout the day, starting with
Natalie Blume in the 1,000 free (11:13.45), while Kirn followed by taking third one race later in the 200 free (1:57.94). Freshman
Julia Mihok enjoyed a third-place showing in the 200 breaststroke, finishing the race in 2:28.99.
Mea Amedio's third-place finish in the 50 free was just over one second behind first place as she completed the race in 24.92 and later came 0.40 seconds away from another top-three finish in the 200 IM, finishing fourth in 2:14.51.
Siena also started the day with the team of
Gabrielle Rentosa,
Kayla Lombardo, Samko, and Amedio finishing third in the 200 medley relay (1:49.04).
The Saints will travel to take on Stony Brook in a dual meet at noon on Saturday, Nov. 15.
