Siena Athletics Releases 2024-25 Annual Report

Annual Report Highlights Department Success Over 2024-25 School Year

Dear Siena Athletics Family,

I am thrilled to share our 2024-25 Siena University Athletics Annual Report with alumni, supporters, fans, and Saints across the Capital Region and beyond!

The past year was a testament to what it means to be a Saint, achieving goals both athletically and academically while serving others in the community.
  • CHAMPIONS CROWNED: Men's Lacrosse captured its fourth Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Championship, and its first in 11 years. Led by ECAC and MAAC Coach of the Year Liam Gleason, the Saints won nine straight games to claim the title, securing the program's first national ranking in more than a decade. Individually, swimmer Hope Ivanovich was a two-time MAAC Champion - the program's first swimming champion in 14 years - while breaking the conference championships record time in the 100 fly. Men's and women's indoor and outdoor track combined to capture four individual and one relay MAAC Championship.
  • SUPERLATIVE SAINTS: Women's Basketball earned its first national postseason tournament appearance in a decade, claiming a berth in the WNIT under first-year head coach Terry Primm. Softball secured its third MAAC Championship Series appearance in four years under head coach Casey Bump.
  • NOTABLE PERFORMANCES: Four other teams advanced to the MAAC Semifinals. Women's soccer equaled the program benchmark for MAAC wins, while baseball achieved its highest win total since 2016 to earn its first postseason appearance in four years. Led by new head coach Gerry McNamara, men's basketball posted a 10-win improvement, which was tied for the ninth-best turnaround nationally.
  • ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE: We achieved a 95% graduation success rate - our highest since 2012 - with 11 total programs posting perfect 100% rates. Three programs recorded perfect multi-year academic progress rates, with eight posting unblemished scores of 1,000 during the most recent 2023-24 academic year.
  • SAINTS IN THE COMMUNITY: From "adopting" local schoolchildren to raising awareness for worthy causes to volunteering to aid the local community, Saints gave back. Men's lacrosse senior Tahnaokata Elijah donated stem cells to a blood cancer patient, and women's lacrosse senior Grace Dobrzynski earned Allstate NACDA Good Works Team recognition.
  • PLAYERS OF THE YEAR: Men's lacrosse senior Pratt Reynolds and men's tennis sophomore Oscar Martinez each earned MAAC Player of the Year accolades.
  • RISING STARS: Catherine Rogers (women's soccer), Dren Dobruna (men's soccer), and Logan Banek (men's lacrosse) each earned MAAC Rookie of the Year honors.
Developing a successful program that everyone can leverage to their benefit is a strategic initiative in our athletic department's plan toward "Building Better Saints."  Every MAAC championship, accomplishment and life lesson our Saints experience is made possible through your unwavering support.

Thank you for your generosity in helping the Saints Alive! Athletic Fund raised $713,960.88.  With your support, we can continue to compete for championships, reach our goals and honor our tradition.

On behalf of our entire Siena Athletics family, THANK YOU for being part of our team. TOGETHER, we Build Better Saints.

Here's to another fantastic year!

MARCH ON!
