LOUDONVILLE, NY – Siena Athletics has named Riley Powell to the position of Saints Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance.

Powell comes to Loudonville after serving as the Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance with the University of Texas at Dallas.

"We're thrilled to welcome Riley to Siena Athletics," said Siena Assistant Vice President / Deputy Director of Athletics for External Relations and Senior Woman Administrator Lori Anctil.

"He's an up-and-coming professional with an impressive depth of knowledge in NCAA compliance, NIL, and eligibility, paired with a strong legal foundation. Riley brings energy, professionalism, and a forward-thinking approach that will be invaluable as we continue to navigate a rapidly evolving collegiate athletics landscape. We're excited about the impact he'll make immediately and the tremendous future he has in college athletic administration."

In his position at UT Dallas, Powell monitored all recruitment contacts, official and unofficial visits, tryouts, and camps and clinics, ensured that CARA limitations were met and countable competitions and dates of competition were followed. In addition, he reviewed the financial aid matrix to ensure that coaches were following FGIA, COA and equivalency limits and created and administered all rules education to the entire athletics staff and created the university's NIL policy.

"I am honored to be joining Siena and its athletics department as the Assistant Athletic Director/Compliance!" Powell said.

"Siena's reputation, continued success, and commitment to its student-athletes' growth were very evident and ultimately led to my decision to join the department. I look forward to working alongside the student-athletes and staff and am committed to contributing to the continued success of Siena athletics and the development of its student-athletes. I would like to thank John D'Argenio, Lori Anctil, and the rest of the hiring committee for this incredible opportunity. Go Saints!"

Powell is a Juris Doctor from Quinnipiac University's School of Law and holds a Bachelor's of Science degree in Sport Management with minors in Political Science from the University of Connecticut.  Powell was honored with the Academic Excellence Award for his publication of a NIL article in the QU Probate Law Journal and held a class ranking of 11th from a pool of 118.
