LOUDONVILLE, NY - Siena Swimming & Diving set a number of top-10 performance times during day two of the 2025 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Championships on Thursday from Spire Institute in Geneva, OH. After two days, Siena is ninth overall with 93 points.
Two top-10 performance marks were set in the 50 free by
Mya Reed and
Kylie Carter - Reed with the fifth-best time after finishing 13th in prelims with a mark of 24.21, and Carter with the program's seventh-top mark after placing 18th in 24.28. However,
Shaylea Triller was Siena's top-finisher in the round - taking 11th in 24.09 which came just under 0.20 hundredths of a second shy of her personal top performance time. Triller and Reed's times were good enough to advance to the "B" Final.
As the 50 free "B" Final came to an end, Triller marked a time of 24.00, besting her prelim time, to place 10th overall. Reed finished with a mark of 24.32, earning 14th overall to finish out the night.
Siena's 200 free relay team of Triller, Carter, Reed, and
Kaci Owens fell just shy of breaking the program record of 1:35.45 as the tandem finished in 1:36.16 to place sixth in the race.
On the boards,
Claire Donlon finished the 3m preliminaries eighth with a personal best score of 209.55 to secure a spot in "A" Finals.
Sydney Murray scored 175.80 to enter "B" Finals after placing 15th in prelims. In the finals, Donlon topped her prelim score by finishing in the finals with a 223.60 - giving her a new personal best and a sixth-place overall finish to close out the "A" Finals. Murray finished the "B" Finals in 15th place with a score of 173.00.
In the 200 IM preliminaries,
Hope Ivanovich and
Mea Amedio each set program top-10 performance marks. Ivanovich swam the third-fastest time in program history at 2:09.38, topping her previous entry of 2:09.89, while Amedio remained sixth on the list after finishing in 2:10.07. The pair finished 19th and 23rd, respectively, just missing out on finals.
GayLynn Kirn and
Natalie Blume swam in the 500 free prelims with Kirn clocking the 26th-fastest time at 5:12.66, and Blume finishing in 5:20.31.
Day three of the MAAC Championships begins at 10 a.m. Friday, February 14, with preliminaries of the 100 fly, 400 IM, 200 free, 100 breast, and 100 back.
