Saints Seek to Bounce Back in Sunday Matinee at Sacred Heart

Siena Aims to Salvage Fifth Straight Weekend Split

FAIRFIELD, CT – Siena Basketball seeks to salvage its fifth straight weekend split when the Saints take on Sacred Heart for a Sunday matinee at noon at the Pitt Center.

Randy Brochu and Freddie Coleman have the call of the game on ESPN+, which can be viewed by clicking the corresponding link. The "Voice of the Saints" Emmanuel Berbari and former Saint Conner Fenlon '12 will have the radio call of the game locally in the Capital Region on JAMZ 96.3 FM, with pregame coverage beginning at 11:30 a.m.

Siena (11-14, 6-8) enters the weekend finale looking to avoid its first three-game losing streak since November, while searching for its first regular season series sweep and a chance to climb back into the middle of the jumbled MAAC pack. The Saints enter play tied with Rider for eighth in the MAAC Standings, albeit just two games back of fourth with six games remaining.

Meanwhile, Sacred Heart (11-13, 7-6) stands in the next tier above Siena, in a three-way tie for fifth with Manhattan and Mount St. Mary's, a game and a half clear of the Saints. The red-hot Pioneers – who lead the MAAC in scoring (76.9), three-point shooting (.370), and assists (15.9) – had won five straight to surge back into contention before being cooled off by MAAC co-leader Quinnipiac Friday night.

The new MAAC foes are set to meet for the first time on Sacred Heart's campus since the Ford Administration. Overall, the Pioneers hold a 5-4 edge in the all-time series. The first eight meetings occurred once annually from 1968-75, before the Saints prevailed in the first MAAC matchup between the programs 93-75 exactly one month ago in Albany.
