Momentum for Siena Men's Tennis did not continue on the weekend as the Saints fell 6-1 to Colgate on the road Drumlins on Saturday.
Sophomore
Oscar Martinez earned the lone singles victory on the night for Siena by getting past the Red Raiders' No. 1 player and senior Benito Vlassis 6-3, 6-1 for his 15
th singles victory of the campaign.Â
Â
In doubles play, Martinez also teamed with her usual partner
Dylan Breen for a 6-2 win against Tim Viding and Aidan Chung.
However, Siena dropped the other two pairings to lose the point culminating with a tough 7-6 (5) nail biter as
Maxwell Acri and
Bruno Loch Varella dropped their match to the sophomore team of Jerome Falcon and Parker McGowan.Â
Â
The defeat ended the Saints' two-match win streak against the Red Raiders.Â
Â
The Saints (1-5) return to action next Saturday, Feb. 22 at Le Moyne in DeWitt at Elevate Fitness.Â
Â
The Red Raiders (3-2) have a quick turnaround versus Rochester on Sunday.Â
