Siena Baseball dropped its series-opener to Bradley 8-2 in neutral site action at the USA Baseball Stadium in Millington, Tennessee.
Bradley (1-3) led 6-0 through six, exacerbated by a three-run fielding error in the second.
Siena (0-4) scored both of its runs in the seventh, courtesy of freshman
Edwin Sanchez who accounted for three of the Saints six hits for the afternoon. Sanchez tripled home
Jake Sparks, and then crossed home plate himself on an RBI groundout by
Nick Bergamotto.
But Nick Hosie answered with a three-run home run for the Braves in the eighth to put the game out of reach.
Travis Lutz tossed five, one-hit shutout frames with five walks and seven strikeouts to earn the win for Bradley.
The teams will wrap up the series Sunday with doubleheader action beginning at noon ET (11 a.m. CT).
