Game Recap: Women's Lacrosse |

Dartmouth Controls Possession in Win Over Women’s Lacrosse

Dobrzynski reaches 200 career point plateau in defeat

Despite a big scoring output from Kelly Logue and an important career milestone reached by Grace Dobrzynski, the game got away from Siena Women's Lacrosse as it was badly beaten on draw controls falling to 0-3 on the season after a 20-9 loss at Dartmouth on Tuesday at Scully-Fahey Field.

Siena got on the board on a first career goal by freshman Eva Pflomm at the 5:33 mark of the first quarter. Kelly Logue scored back-to-back goals within a one minute and 10 second span to lock that score at 3-3 with 1:39 remaining in the first quarter.

The Big Green outscored Siena 3-1 in the second quarter, getting goals from Fiona O'Keeffe, Lauren Riley and Katina Christenson.

Saints senior Grace Dobrzynski found her way in the scoring column with 4:08 left in the quarter for her second goal of the season.

Dartmouth held a heavy edge in draw controls including 8-3 in the first half.

Siena drew even when Olivia Nicolson and Dobrzynski each scored to make it 6-6 with 10:55 left in the third quarter.

Dobrzynski's goal gave her 200 career points as a Saint as she became just the third player in program history to reach that plateau, joining just Nicole McNeeley and Mary Soures as the only other players to reach that mark.

But it all went south from that point as the Big Green struck back with four consecutive goals with two coming from Christenson, as she crossed the 100-goal mark in her career with Dartmouth.

Logue recorded a hat trick with 33 seconds remaining in the third period to cut the lead to 10-7.

However, Dartmouth continued to carry a heavy advantage on draw controls and pushed the lead to 18-8 on a scoring onslaught in the fourth quarter.

A wave of goals found the back of the net off the sticks of Maja Desmond, O'Keeffe, Boo Dewitt, two more from Catherine Erb, Charlotte Myers and two more from Christensen.

For the game, Dartmouth (4-0) held a 25-7 advantage in draw controls and tacked on two additional goals in the closing five minutes to run away with it.

With the win, Dartmouth now leads the all-time series against Siena 4-1 including each of last two meetings.

Logue finished with a team-high five points (four goals and an assists) while Dobrzynski had two goals and an assist.

The Saints start 0-3 in a season for the first time since 2019.

Siena will be back in action on Saturday when it hosts UMass Lowell (4-1) at 1 p.m. from Hickey Field.

The game can be streamed on Siena All-Access.

Admission is free to the game.
