EMMITSBURG, MD – Siena Basketball begins the most important month of the season when the Saints battle Mount St. Mary's in a pivotal Sunday showdown at 2 p.m. at Knott Arena.

Siena (13-15, 8-9) enters the final Sunday of regular season action in eighth place in the MAAC Standings. However, the Saints can still finish anywhere from fourth through 12
th despite their being only six days remaining in the regular season. The top-10 finishers qualify for the MAAC Tournament, with the top-six earning First Round byes.

Siena can secure a MAAC Tournament berth with a win Sunday or defeats by Niagara and Saint Peter's. The Saints enter play just one game back of both Manhattan and Sacred Heart who are currently tied for sixth and the final Opening Round bye. Siena closes the regular season at Manhattan next Saturday.

The Saints will look to reverse their recent fortunes in the month of March. Siena has dropped 13 straight March contests, dating back to a 73-66 win over Canisius on Mar. 4, 2021. The Saints are also in search of their first true March road win since locking up the 2019-20 MAAC Regular Season Championship on Mar. 6, 2020 at Monmouth.

Mount St. Mary's (17-11, 10-7) had won four straight and six of seven prior to a 69-62 setback at Fairfield Friday. The Mount enters play in fourth place in the MAAC Standings, a half-game clear of Iona and a game and a half back of third-place Merrimack.

The third-year MAAC foes meet for just the 10
th time in a series which Siena leads, 7-2. The Saints captured the first meeting between the teams 82-68 on Jan. 23 in Albany, behind a career-high 26 points from
Brendan Coyle, who made seven consecutive threes over a span of just 6:06 in the second half.
