Siena Men's Lacrosse put together its second consecutive complete game effort with a deliberate and steady attack, a commanding face off advantage and were backed by a solid defense as the Saints rolled past host Merrimack 16-8 on Wednesday at Duane Stadium in North Andover, Ma.

Siena (4-4 overall, 2-1 MAAC) nearly led wire to wire and received a career performance from senior attack Pratt Reynolds, who reset his own bar with a personal record eight goals.

It came within two goals of tying USILA All-American (Honorable Mention) and Siena Hall of Famer Tony Asterino's record of 10 goals scored in a game back on April 21, 1979 against Hartwick. 

Two teammates also boosted the Saints' offense with hat tricks as both Travis Fry and Conor Hufnagel contributed with three goals apiece.

After the Warriors (1-8, 0-4 MAAC) got the score even at 3-3 on a Connor Noone goal with 12:39 remaining in the second quarter, the Saints unleashed six consecutive goals with two apiece coming off the stick of Reynolds and Fry, and one each from Ryan McCarthy and Hufnagel.

Freshman Logan Banek continued to be a heavy advantage for Siena as the New Hartford, NY native won 17 of 25 (.680) and added a team-high 11 ground balls to his stat line. 

Entering play, Banek moved up to third in the nation in face off winning percentage at .648.

Defensively, Siena was once led by senior Andrew Arcuri, who tied a season-high mark with 16 saves and had his highest save percentage at .667.  He also lowered his goals-against average to 10.24.    

Siena improved to 3-0 in the all-time series against Merrimack, last facing them in 2007. The Saints held a 38-28 advantage in ground balls as a team and also were a perfect 16 of 16 on clears. 

Siena returns to action Saturday, March 29 when it hosts Mount St. Mary's (2-7 overall, 0-3 MAAC) at 12 p.m. from Hickey Field.
