Â
Siena (13-16, 8-10) enters the final week of the regular season – and its penultimate contest – seeking to secure a berth in next week's Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Championships. The Saints magic number is one – one victory or one Saint Peter's loss the rest of the way will clinch a spot. Siena, which enters play in eighth place in the MAAC Standings, can still finish anywhere from as high as seventh to as low as eleventh.
Â
Fairfield (11-18, 7-11) finds itself in a similar predicament as the Stags also could secure a berth as early as Thursday night. Fairfield begins action tied for ninth place with Rider, just a game back of the Saints.
Â
Siena and Fairfield meet for the 83
rd time in a series which the Saints lead, 47-35. The Stags have captured three straight on the heels of a nine-game Siena win streak. The programs have split the last 12 in Albany.
