LOUDONVILLE, NY – Dylan Millman delivered a decisive three-run homer and John Hacker pitched 4.1 strong innings of relief as Marist secured the series with an 11-4 win over Siena Baseball in Game Two Friday afternoon at Connors Park.
Marist (23-25, 14-13) scored three in the third, tacked on three more on the Milliman home run in the fifth, and opened a commanding 7-1 lead in the seventh to secure the penultimate remaining MAAC Tournament bid. A.J. Brotz contributed both a pair of hits and RBI apiece and scored three times for the Red Foxes, who added two-run frames in both the eighth and ninth to close it out.
Jeremy Sangalang was on base a game-high five times, going 4-4 with a pair of RBI for Siena (21-30, 16-13), which saw its six MAAC series win streak snapped.
Noah Brooks added a pair of hits and scored a run.
Hacker set the tone in middle relief to earn the win for Marist which has now captured 14 of the past 18 matchups in the series.
After dropping the first two to Marist, Siena now faces a critical series finale Saturday. Heading into the final day of regular season action, the Saints now need a win and some help to secure a bye to the double elimination round of next week's MAAC Tournament. First pitch Saturday is set for 1 p.m., and will be preceded by Senior Day festivities as the team is set to honor its 12 seniors at approximately 12:45 p.m.
