Softball Earns CSC Academic All-District Honors

Five Student-Athletes Recognized for Work in the Classroom; Petersen, Swinson advance to All-America ballot

LOUDONVILLE, NY - Siena Softball was recognized for their high achievements in the classroom as well as on the field as the College Sports Communicators (CSC) released its All-District Teams for the sport.

Alissa Eimont, Ashley Giampolo, Emma Petersen, McKenzie Swinson, and Carlie Venables were five of the 34 student-athlete softball players who were honored from the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC).

Additionally, Petersen and Swinson were also selected as a CSC Academic All-America® finalist and will advance to the national ballot to be voted on by CSC members.

Academic All-American is a title reserved for college student-athletes who perform at an elite level in their chosen sport and in the classroom.

There are over 2,000 selections annually.

Eimont graduated with a degree in communications marketing, finishing the Spring term with a 3.94 GPA, and a 3.71 cumulative GPA.

Giampolo finished her undergraduate degree in accounting with a concentration in marketing research and analytics in December. She will also be completing her masters of accountancy with an advanced certificate in data analytics in June, and finished with a 3.71 cumulative GPA.

Petersen, a junior, closed the spring term with a perfect 4.0 GPA and graduated early with a 3.98 cumulative GPA, holding a degree in business analytics.

Swinson graduated with a degree in sports communications, and finished with a 3.43 cumulative GPA.

Venables, a sophomore, finished the spring term with a 3.74 GPA and currently has a 3.63 cumulative GPA as a marketing major.

The 2024-25 Academic All-District® Softball Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the diamond and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes softball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA — for each gender.

Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot.

First-, second- and third-team. Academic All-America® honorees will be announced on June 18 at noon.
