Eight Set to Join Swimming & Diving

Davenport Introduces Her First Signing Class

LOUDONVILLE, NY - Siena Swim & Dive head coach Maggie Davenport announced the signings of eight incoming Saints for the 2025-26 season. The class serves as Davenport's first at the helm of the program. 
 
"I'm very excited for this incoming class," said Davenport. "They are a very talented group of athletes, smart in the classroom, and exceptional young women. Not only will they contribute to the team's success in the pool, but I know they will be amazing fits for the culture of this program as well. The future of Siena Swim & Dive is bright!" 
 
Vittoria Carney | Rotterdam, NY | Schalmont High School | Breast/IM
Constantly going the distance during her high school season, Vittoria Carney was a New York State qualifier for three consecutive seasons. She placed 13th in the 200 medley relay at the New York State Championships, as well as 22nd in the 200 breast at the Eastern Zone Senior Championships. A High Honor Roll student, Carney earned an Advanced Regents Diploma and was recognized for academic excellence as a student athlete for fall sports. She also served as President of the National Art Honor Society. 
 
Abby Clayton | Cocoa Beach, FL | Cocoa Beach Junior-Senior High | Back/Breast/IM
Abby Clayton earned six varsity letters during her time at Cocoa Beach High School, with her career highlighted by being a top-16 Florida State Championships finalist from 2020-2025. With a long list of accolades to her name, Clayton has earned Junior Coaches Award (2019-20), Girls High Points (2020-21), Senior Coaches Award (2021-22), MVP (2022-23), Senior High Points (2023-25), and served as a team captain from 2023-25. She was also a Rockets Swimming National Team member. Just as impressive in the classroom, Clayton graduated in the top 10% of her class as Magna Cum Lade with an associates arts degree. She was also a member of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. 
 
Julia Filiault | Mooresville, NC | Christ the King Catholic High | Back/Fly/Free
The Western North Carolina 1A/2A record holder in the 100 back, Julia Filiault has also been a YMCA National Team qualifier, as well as four-time YMCA National podium finisher. While earning her conference's swimmer of the year honor, Filiault has also been honored as a three-time high school MVP, two-time team captain, and YMCA Mission Award recipient. She served as NCS Junior and Senior Athlete Representative, and was a National Honor Society member. 
 
Kayla Lombardo | Rye, NY | Rye High School | Free/Breast
A 100 breast New York State Championships finalist, Kayla Lombardo also served as the captain for her Rye High School team. In the classroom, Lombardo was a National Honor Society member, and has her Seal of Biliteracy of American Sign Language. 
 
Julia Mihok | Timonium, MD | Maryvale Preparatory School | Breast/IM
Julia Mihok finished her time at Maryvale Preparatory School as a 16-time Maryland State qualifier in the each of the 50, 100, and 200 breast, the 200 IM, and both the short and long course.  The Interscholastic Athletic Association of Maryland All-Conference member is also a four-time National Catholics Qualifier, two-time Eastern Zones and Speedo Sectional qualifier, and the record holder in the 25m backstroke at two summer swim clubs. Mihok captured the AAU Outstanding Athlete Award and Maryvale LIONS Award while serving as team captain in 2024-25.  She also swam for North Baltimore Aquatic Club. 
 
Skylar Ricard | Cohoes, NY | La Salle Institute | Free/Fly
A local joining the Green and Gold from La Salle, Skylar Ricard was a New York State qualifier in the 100 fly, as well as a Colonial Council Invitational champion in the 200 and 500 free. An eight-time Section II Division II finalist, Ricard also achieved Speedo Sectional qualifying times in the 100 and 200 fly, and the 500 free. Additionally, the Cohoes native was a champion in the 200 fly at the ADK Long Course, and was also a six-time finalist, while at the ADK Short Course she was a 10-time finalist. Away from the pool, Ricard was recognized as a New York State Public High School Athletic Association Scholar-Athlete. She has been the recipient of various awards including the Adirondack Swimming League Female Swimming Scholarship, Academic Excellence by the Daughters of the American Revolution as a National Honor Society Historian, and the Brother James L. Romond Service Award with her time spent as a Chaplain (Major) JROTC Officer. 
 
Clara Samko | Stone Ridge, NY | Rondout Valley High School | Free/Fly/IM
As a six-time school record holder (50 free, 100 free, 200 free, 500 free, 100 fly, 200 IM) at Rondout Valley High School, Clara Samko swam her way to New York State Championships three times, Y-Nationals once, and also qualified for Futures. The Section 9 champion in the 50, 100, and 200 free was awarded the Section 9 Outstanding Swimmer Award in 2024, all while previously winning MVP and Rookie of the year in the pool. Away from swimming she was a star on the track, helping break two school records in the outdoor 4x200 and 4x400 en route to being twice crowned the Section 9 champion in the 800m, and once the 4x400. She earned three letters in swimming, track, and cross country, and earned the Best Teammate Award two times in track. Samko was recognized as a New York State Public High School Athletic Association Scholar-Athlete, as well as a Mid-Hudson League Scholar Athlete in 2025. 
 
Bette Sherr-Garcia | Pelham, MA | Amherst Regional High | Diving
Bette Sherr-Garcia put together a first-place showing at the Western Massachusetts Championships, and followed by taking seventh at Massachusetts States. She also secured the Raymond Stec award for having the highest Pioneer Valley Interscholastic Athletic Conference score ranking during the season.
