Siena Swimming & Diving delivered a strong, well-rounded performance at the Eagle Winter Invitational hosted by Florida Gulf Coast (FGCU), posting multiple podium finishes and a deep slate of top-five results across the meet.
The Saints competed against FGCU and Stonehill in the meet. FGCU won with 249 points, followed by Siena with 48 and Stonehill with 45.
Clara Samko highlighted the Saints' efforts with a third-place finish in the 50-yard freestyle, touching in 24.80 seconds, and added a fourth-place showing in the 100-yard butterfly (1:00.86). Gaylynn Kirn also reached the podium, placing third in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 2:13.08, while finishing fourth in the 500-yard freestyle at 5:22.20.
Mea Amedio turned in one of Siena's strongest individual performances, earning second place in the 100-yard freestyle (54.16) and finishing third in the 100-yard individual medley at 1:01.22.
Natalie Blume followed Kirn closely in the 500-yard freestyle, taking fifth overall in 5:26.40.
In relay action, Siena's "A" 400-yard freestyle relay team of
Gabrielle Rentosa, Samko, Amedio, and Kirn placed third with a time of 4:45.93, while the Saints also recorded multiple competitive finishes in the medley and sprint relays. On the diving boards,
Sydney Murray represented Siena in both the 1-meter and 3-meter events.
Siena returns to action at home on January 17, hosting Stonehill at 1 p.m. ET at the Siena Swim Center.
