Siena Water Polo fell to No. 7 Indiana in its season opener, 17-9, in the Bruno Classic Friday evening in Providence, RI. Indiana took advantage of special teams, scoring five power-play goals, while Siena tallied one with the advantage.

Rebecca Currie paced the Saints with three goals on four shots, while
Catherine Williamson added three goals of her own.
Quincy Frommelt chipped in two goals, and
Savana Slaughter made 10 saves in the cage.

Williamson gave Siena an early 1-0 lead, but Indiana responded quickly and used a seven-goal second quarter to build a 9-2 halftime lead. Siena showed fight in the second half, scoring five goals in the third quarter, but Indiana maintained control and closed out the 17-9 victory.

Siena will continue play at the Bruno Classic on Saturday, Jan. 24, against Marist at 10:10 a.m. and Chapman at 2:50 p.m.Â
