Siena Basketball Set For Annual Western New York Trip

Saints Seek To Finish January Strong

NIAGARA UNIVERSITY, NY – Siena Basketball embarks upon its annual Western New York trip when the Saints take on Niagara Friday night at 6:30 p.m. at the Gallagher Center.

Todd Callen and Carson Harper have the call of the game on ESPN+, which can be viewed by clicking the corresponding link. The "Voice of the Saints" Emmanuel Berbari and former Saint Conner Fenlon '12 will have the radio call of the game locally in the Capital Region on JAMZ 96.3 FM, with pregame coverage beginning at 6:30 p.m.

Fresh off an eight-day break, Siena (14-7, 7-3) looks to pick up right from where they left off as they commence the second half of their conference schedule. The Saints arrive in Western New York winners of three straight to take over sole possession of third place in the MAAC Standings at the halfway point of the conference slate. Siena enters the weekend just a game and a half back of frontrunner Merrimack, and a game back of Saint Peter's.

Meanwhile, Niagara (5-15, 2-8) returns to Monteagle Ridge looking to bounce back from a pair of excruciating one-point losses in the final seconds last weekend in Connecticut. The Purple Eagles have dropped three straight and six of seven.

The longtime Empire State foes meet for the 117th time in a series in which Siena holds a 61-55 advantage. The Saints are in search of their first regular season series sweep of Niagara in seven years, after dominating the Purple Eagles in the league-opener 83-54 back on Dec. 5 in Albany.
