BUFFALO, NY – Siena Basketball looks to wrap up its annual Western New York road trip and open February on a high note when the Saints face Canisius Sunday at 1 p.m. at the Koessler Athletic Center.

Winners of four straight to close out January, surging Siena (15-7, 8-3) is in search of its first Western New York sweep in a decade. The Saints got halfway there with a 61% shooting performance leading to an 82-79 victory Friday night at Niagara. Siena has also won four consecutive road games, equaling its longest streak since winning a program-record eight straight from Feb. 23, 2020 – Jan. 16, 2021.
Meanwhile, Canisius (8-14, 3-8) has dropped six straight after having won three in a row to open the New Year. The Golden Griffins three most recent setbacks have been by a total of just 11 points, including an 88-86 overtime loss Friday night to Marist.
The longtime rivals meet for the 116
th time in a series which Siena leads 60-55. The Saints cruised to a 74-52 triumph in the first meeting this season on Dec. 7 in Albany, behind a 16-point, 12-rebound performance from
Antonio Chandler.
