LOUDONVILLE, NY – It was a super Senior Day sendoff for the Siena Swimming and Diving team as the Saints soared on the diving board and delivered a complete performance in a 176-74 victory over Saint Peter's at the Siena Swim Center on Saturday afternoon.
Sophomore
Claire Donlon reigned supreme on the diving board, winning both the three-meter and one-meter events with 273.23 points scored in the former and accrued 248.55 points in the later event, winning both with ease.
The 200-yard medley relay team of sophomore Gabby Rentosa, freshmen
Kayla Lombardo and
Clara Samko and junior
Mea Amedio finished first in 1:50.05.
Samko took first place in the 50-yard fly in 26.13 and was a double winner on the day as she also won the 50-yard freestyle in 25.01. Another double winner was sophomore
Leslie Dame, who earned a victory in the 100-yard butterfly in 1:00.47 and had enough to also win the 100-yard freestyle in 55.51.
Freshman
Julia Filiault edged out teammate Lombardo by .30 of a second to win in 1:11.02. The 200-yard freestyle was won by
GayLynn Kirn, who breezed to a 1:56.91 finish.
Lombardo won in the 50-yard breaststroke in 32.42, getting just enough to beat out the Peacocks' Madison Petricevic (32.89).
Rentosa touched the wall first in the 50-yard backstroke in 28.34.
Siena has now won each of the 10 head-to-head all-time meetings with Saint Peter's dating back to 1999.

Brooke Pociask was made with several Siena teammates also providing recollections and memories forged while they were at Siena together.
Siena (5-8, 3-3 MAAC) will next head to the MAAC Swimming and Diving Championship at the SPIRE Institute in Geneva, OH from Wednesday, Feb. 11 through Saturday, Feb. 14.
