Saints Welcome Quinnipiac for Senior Day Showdown

Siena Looks to Extend Seven-Match Unbeaten Streak, Bolster Postseason Hopes Against Bobcats

LOUDONVILLE, NY – Siena Men's Soccer returns to Hickey Field for Senior Day on Saturday, Oct. 31, hosting Quinnipiac at 2 p.m. with postseason implications looming large. The Saints enter the regular-season home finale riding a seven-match unbeaten streak and will look to carry that momentum into a pivotal matchup against a Bobcats squad sitting second in the Metro Conference standings.

Siena (3-5-7, 1-1-6 Metro) enters the weekend ninth in the conference standings but remains firmly in contention for a postseason berth with two matches remaining in the regular season. Just two points separate the Saints from sixth-place Rider, which has 11 points, as Siena joins nine other teams vying for one of the Metro Conference Championships' remaining four spots. Fairfield and Quinnipiac have already secured postseason berths, while Canisius has been eliminated from contention.

The Saints' seven-match unbeaten streak is the second-longest in program history, as they continue to battle for a return to the conference tournament following last season's historic run to the program's first conference championship and NCAA Tournament appearance.

Prior to kickoff, Siena will honor graduating seniors Lucas Almeida, Ben Biton, Bennet Glinder, Lee Mara, and Alejandro Perez Jorda. All five were members of the Saints' first-ever conference championship team in 2025 and will be recognized for their contributions to the program.

The senior goalkeeper Glinder has continued to anchor the Saints defensively during their unbeaten stretch. The senior recorded his Metro-leading fifth shutout of the season in Siena's most recent outing on Oct. 28, extending his program-record career total to 20. Glinder has allowed just one goal across his last four appearances and ranks eighth in the conference with a 1.53 goals-against average.

Saturday's matchup also carries a personal connection for Siena head coach Graciano Brito, a Quinnipiac alumnus who played under Bobcats head coach Eric Da Costa before serving on his coaching staff from 2012-19.

Quinnipiac (7-4-2, 5-1-2 Metro) enters Saturday second in the conference standings with 17 points and riding a four-match unbeaten streak. The Bobcats have won their last two contests, defeating Mount St. Mary's 4-0 before edging Iona 3-2. Quinnipiac has also proven capable away from home, posting a 3-2-2 record on the road this season.

The Bobcats lead the Metro with an average of 2.2 goals per match and rank second with a 0.69 scoring margin. Sophomore Taeheon Lim headlines the attack, leading the conference and ranking tied for sixth nationally with 11 goals. Lim is also tied for ninth nationally with 25 points and ranks among the Metro's top three with 2.75 shots per match.

In goal, Alexander Hansen has started all 13 matches for Quinnipiac, compiling a 7-4-2 record with a .753 save percentage and a 1.56 goals-against average. His 4.69 saves per match rank second in the conference.

Saturday marks the 17th all-time meeting between Siena and Quinnipiac, with the Bobcats holding an 11-3-2 advantage. The Saints last hosted Quinnipiac in Loudonville on Sept. 28, 2022, earning a 2-1 victory. The Bobcats claimed a 1-0 win in last season's meeting in Hamden, Connecticut. Each of the last five meetings dating back to the 2020-21 season has been decided by exactly one goal, with the series' most recent draw coming in 2008.
