Siena Swimming & Diving continued competition Thursday at the 2026 MAAC Swimming and Diving Championships inside the SPIRE Institute, highlighted by three individual lifetime bests and a strong relay showing to cap the evening.
In the sprint lanes, freshman
Clara Samko turned in a breakthrough swim in the 50 free. Racing in the A Final, Samko touched in 23.75 to finish sixth overall while surpassing her previous personal best for an All-MAAC finish.
Freshman
Abby Clayton delivered a top-10 program performance in the 200 IM, placing 20th overall with a time of 2:09.27 in the C Final. Her mark ranks third all-time in school histoy
Junior
GayLynn Kirn added another strong distance performance for the Saints in the 500 free. Competing in the C Final, Kirn clocked a personal-best 5:07.86 to place 20th overall, improving upon her previous top time.
The Saints also closed the night in the 200 freestyle relay, as the quartet of
Gabrielle Rentosa,
Mea Amedio,
Camryn Raines, and Samko combined for a season-best 1:36.39 to finish eighth overall.
Through two days of competition, Siena remains ninth with 180 points. Day three preliminaries begin at 9:30 a.m. Friday.
