Siena Swimming & Diving built momentum on Day 3 of the 2026 MAAC Swimming & Diving Championships on Friday, turning in a strong all-around performance highlighted by a pair of consolation heat victories and five top-10 program performance times.
Clara Samko delivered a standout swim in the 100 butterfly, winning the C final to place 17th overall. After clocking 58.29 in the morning prelims, Samko dropped more than one second in finals with a lifetime-best 57.20—a mark that now ranks fifth on the top 10 list. In the same event, defending MAAC champion and MAAC record holder
Hope Ivanovich returned to the championship final and placed 12th overall in 57.39.
On the diving boards,
Claire Donlon captured the 3-meter B final title to finish ninth overall. Donlon improved from a 194.85 in prelims to a 213.40 in finals, posting one of Siena's top diving efforts of the meet.
The Saints saw success in the 100 backstroke, where
Gabrielle Rentosa placed third in the C final with a time of 58.12, improving upon her 58.51 prelim swim, for a 19th-place finish.
GayLynn Kirn also scored in the C final, finishing fifth in it and 21st overall in 58.57 after swimming 56.27 in prelims, moving into sixth on the top 10 performance list.
In the 100 breaststroke,
Julia Mihok earned an eighth-place finish in the B final and 16th overall with a time of 1:07.64, good enough for eighth on the top 10 list.
Alice Scalmani took fourth in the 400 IM C final and 20th overall, touching in 4:41.59 after a 4:43.12 prelim swim to secure the ninth-best performance in program history.
Siena capped the evening in the 400 medley relay, as the quartet of Rentosa, Mihok, Ivanovich, and Samko combined for a 3:54.27 to place eighth overall. Rentosa led off with a 58.00 backstroke to improve upon her earlier time for third on the top 10 list.
Through three days of competition, Siena sits ninth in the team standings with 338 points entering Saturday's final session.
